MONTHLY PRAYER & PRAISE – May 2008

 Monthly Praise Focus:  This month we would like to focus on two things.  First, the great additions God has blessed us with in the ministry at New Life.  It has been amazing to see God work in our church.  It took the removal of a family that was self serving and creating a bad spirit in the church to see Gods blessings come. In February, Genci and his family came to our church and now he is doing all the translation work for the ministry, he has been a wonderful encouragement to us. His sister Anasa is working with Debby in Sunday school, she has such a sweet and humble spirit. Their mother is also faithfully attending.  This spring Diana came to work with us bringing a host of talent with her, she is working primarily in the area of music, what a difference it has made in our music program.  We are excited to have these dear folks working with us at the New Life Baptist Church.

 

Secondly, we would like to update you on the results of Picnic Sunday. In the morning services the church was full with 5 first time visitors, we had a great time of worship and preaching. I finished a series of messages on “Who and what are you”. After the service everyone traveled up to Priske where we enjoyed some wonderful food and fellowship followed by a time of singing and testimonies. Project “Adopt a Chair”  A big thank you to those who have already helped with this project, we are about a third of the way there. Just about all of our chairs need to be replaced, so we are in need of at least 100 chairs for both the camp and the two churches. If you would be willing to buy a chair or possibly two we will add your name to the honor plaque. If you would like to take part in the “Adopt a chair” project please send your gift of $25.00 for each chair to:

Please pray for following special events coming to New Life in June:

June 17-20 – We will be having our 4th annual summer VBS.  This year we will have a team of people from one of our supporting churches visiting and working with us for 10 days, we are really excited and looking forward to a great time of fun and fellowship.  

Sunday, June 22 – “Family Portrait Sunday” This is an event that we have done several times in the past and we are once again looking forward to a great outcome.  Family pictures are still somewhat rare here in Albania, so this will be a wonderful opportunity for the families of our church to invite extended members to a special service followed by refreshments and a picture session.

Special Prayer Requests:

·     The decline in the dollar, additional support!

·     Finances for the payoff of the property and funds to purchase needed chairs, equipment and expansion projects for the church and camp in Priske.

·     Pray for our ministry team: Genci – translation, Diana & Ben – Music /  guitars, Heather & Debby – Sunday school, Gazi – Youth ministry / van route, Mike – Preaching & discipleship.

·     Growth & discipleship of new believers

·     Additional salvation decisions

·     Healing of Mike’s hand
